Cake? Yes, please!

Hey y'all! Happy Holidays! Happy New Year! Happy it's-been-way-too-long!

Sorry for my extended absence. The holidays were crazy, as usual, and as I'm sure you all understand. They also marked a big crazy wedding breakdown for me, which I'll dicuss in another post.

But now. Now, I'm here to talk about cake! This weekend we jumped back on the wedding planning wagon and booked our cake baker.

Please welcome to our wedding festivities.... Walker Cake Co.!

They were the first and only cake baker we even met with. To be fair, I had done a lot of online research and met a few other bakers at bridal shows. We saw a ton of great bakers but it seemed like they were all missing something. One had a great price and their cake tasted great but their designs left a little to be desired. Walker Cake Co. had everything we wanted: great tasting cake (with a ton of great flavors to choose from), reasonable prices and amazing design skillz.

We brought our general inspiration board and our cake inspiration board to the meeting to give him an idea of what our wedding was going to look like and what kind of cake we liked.

The cake inspiration board that we gave him actually has one other photo on it that just happens to be what our design will be inspired by.

*sigh* Isn't she gorgeous?! The flowers. The buttercream. The detail. The flowers! I love it!! We talked about a few small changes like adding a few colored flowers and/or varying the whiteness of the flowers to add a little dimension but I think it's going to be perfect.

He sent us home with four cupcakes and of course, like a terrible blogger, I forgot to take a picture! We got two chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting, one red velvet with vanilla buttercream and one chocolate with chocolate buttercream. All sooo delicious! (Obviously. I couldn't even take a picture before we scarfed them down!)

We get to choose three flavors and so far we're thinking chocolate with peanut butter frosting, red velvet with vanilla buttercream and either white cake with vanilla buttercream or raspberry cream cheese cake with vanilla buttercream.

What do you think? Would you rather have vanilla cake or raspberry cream cheese?

I love all the photos of those cakes :) They look similar to what I gave to our baker!

And raspberry cream cheese all the way!
