Does it exist?
At this point, I don't think it does.
Sean and I (mostly I) have spent many hours at the google machine searching for the perfect venue. Here are a few of the things we're looking for in a venue:
1. Located between Rochester, NY and the Hudson Valley.
2. Space outside or space inside with great views of the outside.
OR
3. An awesome view of the mountains, river or lake.
4. Awesome food (Bonus points for locally grown).
5. Affordable bar packages (Bonus points for local beer and wine!).
6. Near some hotel accommodations for our guests.
We've probably looked at one bazillion venue options and none of them have seemed quite right. Right now, our primary wedding related task is finding a venue. I've taken the last few months off from planning/wedding venue searching, but now it's back to work!

Not sure how far north you are or if you followed my venue saga posts but we went through 22. Yes, 22!! We live in Westchester so most are Westch/Conn but you might find a couple on my list.
Also - I went to school in the Hudson Valley area (Poughkeepsie) so lemme know if you want help with that area too. ;)

Oh I'm glad to hear at least one other person had as much trouble finding a venue! Small world too - FI's family lives about an hour from Poughkeepsie! Any riverfront locations come to mind in that area?
